It focuses on "shaping and influencing forces affecting the future of research in the process of scholarly communication."

Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) Library Trends and Statistics

The Association of College and Research Libraries, a division of the American Library Association, "enhances the effectiveness of academic and research librarians to advance learning, teaching, and research in higher education. Compiled by the University of Virginia Center for Survey Research, ACRL's Library Trends and Statistics offer data in five major categories - collections, expenditures, personnel and public services, faculty and enrollment statistics, and supplementary statistics. Data is available for purchase, or online to registered users.
